A simple agreed upon divorce, even if there are children,  does not normally require a hearing, as long as your divorce remains uncontested.   If you need help reaching an agreement with your spouse so that you can file an "uncontested divorce", you may wish to try mediation.  A mediator can negotiate with you and your spouse to help you reach an agreement that is fair and acceptable to both parties.  We work with several excellent mediators and can provide you with a mediation referral if you would like to try mediation.

You are encouraged to consult with an attorney for advice you may need and to have your legal rights explained to you.
